    Whale Shark Scene

In 2024 I participated in the Polka Dot Dragon Lantern Festival. That year I made (with assistance) two whale sharks out of recycled cardboard, hot glue, tape, paint and a lot of caffeine. These two hung from my tent, I put on an underwater light to reflect off the ceiling and bottom of the sharks and to top it off whale sounds on a speaker. It looked truly magical and everyone loved walking in between them and taking photos.

Roadtrips & Rainbow Trout – Colouring Book

This is a colouring book I published a few years ago. All the plants, animals and locations are local except two. It also includes Ktunaxa and Sinixt translations to majority of the drawings and since I used their language I donate back to them.

    Grizzly Bear / Gyro Park

This painting was inspired by the Grizzly Bears that took up residence in Nelson in 2024 , along with the variety of  Black Bear families that were in town and enjoying Gyro Park to the fullest.

    Firehall

While painting this piece I learned about the crystals and granite that are a part of the geological formations that Nelson is built on. I learned that it is rare but Tourmaline  crystals have reportedly been found in the West Kootenays, Slocan Valley and North of Cranbrook. The crystals come in many colours and sometimes more than one colour, like the Watermelon Tourmaline crystals pictured here. A beautiful part about making and sharing art is that my new knowledge made it into this piece; crystals and mushrooms this time! I wonder if the fire bell still works even when tangled in vines?
